Ski touring basic course

This ski touring course is perfect for ambitious skiiers and ski touring beginners with good fitness!
You will receive necessary information about your ski touring equipment, learn more about weather and snow conditions as well as tour planning as part of instructional ski tours, particularly in relation to avalanche situations and rescue strategies.

This course makes you ready for your own safe ski tours! 

- Introduction to standard ski touring equipment

- Orientation and wheather observation

- Use of avalanche emergency equipment: transceiver search, pin point, shovel strategy

- Learning about snow types, forms and nature of terrain

- Two training ski tours respecting "Stop or Go" strategie

- Mental and physical fitness

- Fitness to walk uphill on skis for 2-3 hours up to 800 metres in altitude

- Safe skiing on all slopes, ability to ski off piste

Your rental equipment is available in 1080 Wien, Lerchenfelder Straße 28. Reservation necessary until tuesday before beginning of the course.

Rental for complete ski touring set: € 90,–.

Additional cost:

- own arrival and departure

- accommodation and meals (€ 70,- p.P./night in double room with breakfast), dinner and drinks not included. In Gasthof Leitner are no single rooms availaible.

Please note, that your registration is binding. You find the conditions for rebooking or cancellation under this link: Teilnahmebedingungen. To avoid cost in case of illness, we recommend to take out cancellation insurance, for example: Rücktrittsversicherung  

Additional, Gasthof Leitner´s cancellation fees:

until 1 month before arrival: 40% from total amount

1 month - 1 week before arrival: 70%

in the last 6 days before arrival: 90%

no show or early departure: 100%
