Ski touring & ski technique training

This ski touring and technique combination course is perfect for ambitious skiiers and ski touring beginners with good fitness!
You get necessary information about your ski touring equipment, especially concerning avalanche rescue strategies. This course makes you ready for your own safe ski tours and teaches the basics to feel better in skiing off the slopes. Ski training takes place in and around the ski area.

- Introduction to standard ski touring equipment

- Orientation and wheather observation

- Use of avalanche emergency equipment: transceiver search, pin point, shovel strategy

- Learning about snow types, forms and nature of terrain

- Ski training on the piste and off piste to improve the individual ski technique

- Two training ski tours respecting "Stop or Go" strategie

- Mental and physical fitness

- Fitness to walk uphill on skis for 3-4 hours up to 1000 metres in altitude

- Safe skiing on all slopes, ability to ski off piste

Your rental equipment is available in 1080 Wien, Lerchenfelder Straße 28. Reservation necessary until tuesday before beginning of the course.

Rental for complete ski touring set: € 90,–. 

It is also possible, to rent equipment at Skiverleih Planneralm – Sport Scherz - please pay attention to their conditions!

€ 430,00 (member of Alpenverein Österreich), € 470,00 (nonmember)

Additional cost:

- own arrival and departure

- accommodation and meals (€ 69- p.P./night in double room with half board). No single rooms availaible, double rooms for single use depending on availability. Please note, if the house is fully booked, accommodation might be arranged also in dorms!

- lift ticket for ski training
